INFORMATION & POLICIES

Attendance and Expectations
Students typically study classical piano style, I do not generally offer “pop” instruction.
Students music practice regularly. Here is the rough estimate practice time I would recommend.

  • First-year students – 15 minutes, 5 times a week

  • Elementary students – 20 minutes, 5 times a week

  • Intermediate Students – 40 minutes, 5 times a week

  • Advanced Students – 60 minutes, 5 times a week

No matter what age or level, performance is very important for the music student. I will attempt to provide adequate opportunities for all students to perform throughout the year. Information will be sent home as opportunities occur. I request that if possible, all students play in recitals.

I will gladly help prepare students who are interested and eligible for music festivals, talent shows, church performances, auditions, or any other performance opportunities that may arise.

ABOUT ME

I hold a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance and Master of Music Degree in Piano Pedagogy from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I have been teaching in the Washington D.C. area since 2013. And just moved to San Marcos, California with my husband, two sons who are attending San Elijo Elementary School, and two Beagles. I’ve had plenty of experience working with students of all levels and skills - from beginners to advanced students of all ages. I am an active member of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) and NVMTA. Many of my students have been participating in local festivals and competitions.
